As we open our doors, we are inviting a small number of families to experience The Oak Studio from the very beginning.
Your session fee of CHF 495 covers the complete portrait experience and includes a CHF 250 print credit that guarantees you leave with artwork for your home.
In return, you grant us permission to use your portraits across our website, social media, and marketing materials. This is how we build the portfolio that represents the studio and how your family becomes part of The Oak Studio story from the start.
Not every family wishes for their portraits to be shared for marketing purposes, and that preference is entirely welcome. The full portrait experience remains open to you at the same session fee of CHF 495 and without the CHF 250 print credit.
Your session fee includes everything needed to create portraits you'll be proud to display for decades.

THE STUDIO
Based in Basel and built for international families who call this city home, The Oak Studio is a fine art portrait studio dedicated to creating artwork that lasts.
Every piece that leaves The Oak Studio is made to the standard of fine art. Printed on archival materials, hand-finished, and built to last generations.
The wall art, albums, and folio boxes we create are designed to be lived with and passed down, not stored away.
Four steps.
A lifetime on your walls.
01. The Consultation
We start with a conversation about your family, your home, and this season of life. We discuss where your portraits will live, and what to expect. This is where we design your session to tell your story.
02. The Session
Whether in our studio or at a Basel location that means something to your family, your session is unhurried and guided. You get wardrobe styling guidance from our expert stylist. Full hair and make-up for mum is included.
03. The Viewing
Two weeks later, you return for a private viewing. This is the first time you see your family as portraits. We present them on a large screen, and together we choose the pieces that will become artwork in your home.
04. The Artwork
Your portraits are printed on museum-grade fine art paper. Albums and folio boxes are hand-made by artisans. Every piece comes ready to display and crafted to last decades.
I understand this chapter
I moved to Basel from New Zealand with my own family, so the years you are in are familiar to me. They pass more quickly than they feel while you are living inside them.
I have photographed families for many years, and for most of that time I did what nearly every photographer does. I made images I was proud of, handed over the files, and trusted that people would do something with them. They almost never did. The pictures moved from a phone to a laptop, and the years they held went unseen.
The families I worked with wanted to remember exactly how everyone was in that season of life. So I am building the studio to make portraiture that is printed, framed, and designed for your home. It is meant to be lived with for decades, and made to that standard.
That is why The Oak Studio exists. These years deserve to become something you can hold, and most families never quite manage it. I would like to help you make sure yours does.
